HOSPITALIZATION AND ICU RULES
If you need to hospitalize your pet, Vetcare Veterinary Hospital’s veterinarian team will provide you with medical and emotional care you need.
All animals who are hospitalized are served by our vets during 24 hours a day, making them complete General scans at least 4 times a day, as well as diagnostic tests that require the discretion of our team veterinarian: x-rays, ultrasounds, analytical… etc, whose results will inform you promptly, the 24 hours being monitored.
The animals rest in individual cages appropriate to their size and need.
For critically ill animals, we have automated ICU units in which the temperature, humidity and oxygen necessary for the patient are controlled.
We have a specific hospital ward for each species with a total of 65 cages: dogs (120m2), cats (40m2) and exotic animals (20m2), in addition to a hospital ward for infectious diseases (20m2)
-CALLS: Will be informed of the State of your pet by telephone about 12 o’clock (evolution of symptomatology) in the morning and 18 h (part of the case) in the evenings approximately (by not communicating with you, can call those hours). Only where the State of the animal is extremely serious calls outside these hours will be made.
-VISITS: Visit your pet in morning shift 11 am to 12 pm or evening from 18 h to 19 h. Whether for work or can not attend at this time you must notify it to the staff of the Centre so that it authorizes another different visiting hours.
During the visit, will talk to the veterinarian who directs the case who will inform them of the results of the tests performed and the evolution of your pet.
The time of the visit will be 5-15 minutes maximum to rest the animals and that the team of the Center can do their job and medicate and cater to them.
Thank you for respecting these times and that during visits not go more than 3 people to allow a correct operation of the hospital and to ensure that hospitalized animals receive the attention they require.
It is important, likewise, having one contact person to transmit the telephone medical reports that recommend that one member of the family is responsible for receiving the information.
FOOD: Some animals can reject food provided at the hospital, so that the veterinarian may suggest you bring home-cooked food that is more appetizing; still very important that you inform us if your pet has any food intolerance or taking special diet.
-PERSONAL items: we thank you to bring personal items (beds, blankets or toys and even family photos!); to make your pet feel at home and thus ensure the comfort of your pet while you are with us. All of them will be labeled to the entry of the animal to avoid losses.
-HOSPITAL discharge: The animals are given high in observation once symptoms have stabilized, may exist risks and recurrences of the same during the first 24-72, before which should report it immediately to our team for their evaluation.
High hours are 11-13 h and 18-20 h from Monday to Friday and Saturdays until 14:00 h.
-CONDITIONS: Animals are hospitalized because his State is serious or at least quiet.
The Center is not responsible for unwanted complications stemming from such hospitalization as well as the risks of various diagnostic procedures to perform.
The veterinarian responsible for the case will an approximate budget before income and prompted the contribution of 50% of the same concept of funding. In cases that remain hospitalized several days, you will be asked payment of invoices every 2 days.
If they were to perform diagnostic tests not budgeted, would communicate you to your authorization. We will inform you daily of the status of accounts. Being an indispensable condition full payment of the invoice to be able to register your pet.

Discharge from hospital under observation must sign the document of high authorizing the same.
-ABANDONED animals: for abandoned animals entering the Centre because they require hospitalization, costs will be shared 50%, being responsible for the animal at all times the person collecting and who moved to our Center, as a condition for to assist you, working at all times, economically and with the dissemination of the case to assist in its adoption.
