Collaboration in scientific research

 

VETCARE ETERINARY HOSPITAL  takes part in study of investigation of vectorial diseases transmitted by ticks together with Félix Valcárcel Sancho DVM, PhD (investigator of the group of parasitología of the National Institute of investigation and Agrarian and Food technology / INIA-CISA), and together with Nélida Fernandez (investigator of the University Alfonso X/UAX) For the above mentioned study they needed the support of veterinary Centers of reference so that the veterinary Equipment of the Center will have to sample at random two dogs every month, for one year, of that they come to consultation. In the sampling epidemiological information, presence of ticks were annotated, blood extraction and processing sample was realized in the Laboratory of our Center, and later withdrawal and processing of information for the personnel that takes part in the investigations.

We are taking part disinterestedly in studies of this type in order to be able to extract accurate information it brings over of diffusion and epidemiology of this type of diseases of vectorial transmission, which also are dangerous zoonosis, which are transmitted to human beings, of there the importance of the investigations, since is complicated a vitro to reproduce them in a laboratory and the field data are fundamental for his study. The owners of the pets chosen at random will have to give his assent to be able to take part in this study, and the information and conclusions of this one and other studies will be published to his ending in the web of the Center and for E-mail to all the participants.

To date of today we take part in other two projects of investigation with universities and private centers of investigation, of vectorial diseases transmitted by mosquito (Leishmania) and of Oncology, thanks to the great volume of cases that are valued for the diverse specialities of the Center anually.
